Physical Education (PE)

Our aim is to ensure physical education at Reay is fun, inclusive, challenging and safe for all.

All our children have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports. Our weekly PE lessons ensure that children have a solid grounding in the physical fundamentals of balance, co-ordination and agility whilst establishing the patterns needed for running, jumping, throwing and catching.

For us physical activity does not start and end in PE, children have the opportunity to play sports such as basketball, cricket and table tennis at break times. Children in Years 3 to 6 run the daily mile and go swimming for two terms each year.

For those wanting to further develop their skills we offer a great selection of before and after school sports clubs run by qualified coaches and requiring a minimal termly fee. These include tennis, football, running and netball.

We also enjoy working with local organisations such as Surrey Cricket Club, Siobhan Davies Dance and the Royal Ballet to provide our children with a diverse range of physical experiences.

We enter a number of sports leagues, non- competitive sports events and competitive tournaments throughout the year including, swimming, gymnastics and athletics.

Children are required to wear full PE kit for their lessons and for safety purposes must not wear any form of jewellery, including stud earrings.
